Friday favourites

I get style inspiration from several places but the main sources of my inspiration are fashion blogs, and without them I wouldn't have started mine.  I catch up with them everyday and I don't only admire their pictures but I read what they have to say because I love finding out where they got theirinspiration from for that particular outfit.  This is where my fashion inspiration has come from this week, so they deserve at least a little bit of credit!

Pink blossom tree

BLAZER: FOREVER 21 | SHIRT: RIVER ISLAND | SKIRT: TOPSHOP | SHOES: CONVERSE

So I thought I'd go all out today with my outfit to make the most of the sunshine as the weather is meant to go down hill from tomorrow onwards, moan moan whinge whinge.  So here is me, trying to 'personify summer' if you will, in my colour-filled ensemble.

Wishful wednesday

I am going through that time again, when you feel guilty for spending a silly amount on clothes because you feel your wardrobe isn't as filled as it should be considering how much you've spent.  I could sit here and say "so I am banning myself from spending for the next few weeks", but I can't make a promise which I know I won't keep.  How do I know this?  Because I am absolutely in love with these Nike hi-tops, for one.  And by buying them I wouldn't have anything but a mere few pounds to my name, maybe I'll put it off for a week or two, but it's only a matter of time until an ASOS 20% discount sneaks into my email inbox, then BOOM.  (Hurry up please.)
Secondly, I have never actually owned the perfect pair of denim cut-offs, which isn't on really because they're like, only the wardrobe staple for every summer.  I love these Topshop ones because a) they're shorter than they should be, b) they're the perfect colour of denim and c) they're high-waisted, which I can't really resist.
This unicorn tee is probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen.  THIS is how you wear a unicorn in your outfit without looking like a five year old girl, ladies: cosmic print and cut-off sleeves mixed in with it.  Et voilĂ .

My first peplum

TOP: DOROTHY PERKINS | JEANS: ASOS | BAG & SHOES: TOPSHOP

I featured this shirt in my 'wishful Wednesday' post last week and bought it a day or so later.  I love the look of peplums, especially on shirts, I think they're really flattering and let you get away with a what-would-have-been pretty casual, boring outfit.  I always planned to get one in white, too, making it perfect for summer time and days like today.  Plus I don't have enough whites in my wardrobe at the moment, in fact I'm pretty sure this is my only white piece of clothing...  And the jeans are just a normal, old pair which I actually can't bend my legs in, but you gotta make sacrifices!  And am wearing the ever-so-popular studded Vectras from Topshop, I think I am going to buy the nude pair also so I can have them for summer and this pair for autumn.  (I'm not one of them women with hundreds of pairs of shoes, but I'm slowly getting there...)
On another note, I'm having a little clearout as I can't actually fit any more clothes in my wardrobe, and for someone who shops more than one should, that's quite a problem... so if you're interested take a look here, I will keep adding stuff to it over the next week or so too, so keep an eye out.

Pastel green

ALL TOPSHOP

Ooooh am fully embracing the pastel trend this season.  The weather yesterday was pretty insane to say it's March, my dad even complained that it was 'too hot', he's definitely British.  I don't know if you can tell (I've had it for years) but the image on my tee is of Queen in the 'I want to break free' video when they're all dressed up as women, which I bought years ago.  I love a bit of Queen!  I think it was the back that really made me like it as I haven't really seen anything like it before, I've even bought a men's t-shirt since and done the same thing to the back of it to make it more feminine looking.
Am also wearing my new hi-tops because as I've said before as time goes on I'm liking the sports luxe trend more and more, and seeing as they were only under thirty pounds (pretty good for a pair of shoes, right?) I thought 'why not'.  However the low price is probably explained in the fact that one shoe has a velcro buckle thing, whereas the other shoe doesn't... I was, and still am, completely baffled at it.  I'm gonna assume they're probably not meant to be that way, but is it just my shoes or all the others?!  I didn't buy them in my local Topshop so I can't check, but I still think I'm going to keep them though, I can pull of the whole hip/gangster look with my cool undone velcro thing going on... right?
Yeeeeah don't answer that.

Aqua blue

BLAZER: FOREVER 21 | SHIRT: ASOS | SHORTS: RIVER ISLAND | JEWELLERY: TOPSHOP | SHOES: CONVERSE

I have been desperate to wear my new blazer but the weather hasn't really been great, so when the sun came out I pulled it out of my wardrobe without much hesitation.  It's a bit controversial pairing it with black, but what the hell.  I've never bought from Forever 21 before but I spotted this blazer on a mannequin before I even stepped through the entrance and I knew I wanted it.  I am loving this colour this season and I bought it for under twenty pounds, which to me is damn good price for something I'll probably be wearing nearly everyday come summer.  Am pretty sure I grabbed the last one in the store too which was lucky!
My quirky ring collection is slowly growing and I've had a few of compliments on the moustache and eyes one (which my boyfriend actually picked out for me!).  It's strange because I never used to be able to wear rings because they'd bug me but I just seemed to have gotten over that over night.  My favourite things are still necklaces though, I think they definitely give an outfit that little bit of something.  I'm wearing my trusty Converse but I really don't know how many more wears they have in them, but it is not a lot.  I've had them for years and worn them with 90% of my outfits, but they now have rips in them and they're basically falling apart *holds back tears*.  Have you ever had an item which you couldn't bear to get rid of, but probably should?

Spikes

JUMPER, NECKLACE & SHOES: TOPSHOP | JEANS: RIVER ISLAND

Wearing my favoruite jumper and favourite jeans, yes!  It's finally been warm enough to take my coat off today (some of the time), hallelujah!  I mean I was still walking around with this massive jumper on, but it still counts, right?  I even went a step further (must have been feeling wild today) and whacked my ankles out, thus I can declare it is finally getting warmer *mini mexican wave*.  I love this necklace (I must do as I spent more than a tenner on it...) and I wore it to the first time today, only to find out that with every step I jingle, kinda like a cat with a bell around its neck...
I manned up and checked my bank today and actually discovered I had a bit more than I thought (cue jumping up and down in public) and decided to purchase one of the peplums as seen in yesterday's wishlist post, I can't wait to start wearing more summer appropiate stuff.  What are you most looking forward to wearing once it's warm enough?

Wishful wednesday

Two trends which I am clearly obsessed with this season: the peplum and sports luxe, which actually surprises even me because I expected myself to completely avoid that trend despite my growing Converse collection, but after seeing some bloggers carrying it off perfectly I can say that I've been converted.

First day of spring

JUMPER, DRESS (worn as skirt) & NECKLACE: TOPSHOP | SHOES: ASOS | CAT: BOYFRIEND'S

Ah spring is FINALLY here and the sun is out (it's still colder than it should be, though).  Sam's cat, Lewis, tagged along and decided to appear in some of the the majority of the shots, the cutie/poser.
I am really craving a massive shopping trip right now, there is so much I want, especially for the new season.  However (damn it) I am skint so I managed with this simple dress and jumper combination.  At the moment because of the sunshine I am desperate to inject a bit of colour into my outfits (there's just something wrong with wearing an all-black ensemble whe the sun is shining, no?) so this jumper was the perfect choice to brighten up my navy dress and trusty black tights.
I love these velvet flats but I know they wouldn't be so appropriate come summer time, maybe I'll purchase them in white at some point?  I'm not a flip-flop kind of girl to be honest!
