Friday Favourites

1. I love how the shoes subtly match with the cool Batman top, such a great look.
2. Sometimes all-black outfits are the best ones.  So effortless.
3. What better jumper to wear in Movember than this one?  I really like how it's been styled here.
4. Leather & faux fur = perfect winter combination.
5. The colours of this outfit are lovely, and I am so lusting after that statement necklace.
6. THIS.  I want to recreate this look so much.  I need to get me some stockings and a thigh-split maxi skirt.  Damn, this is awesome.

Friday Favourites

1. I really like this outfit, simple but extremely chic.  And her dog is so cute it should have a blog all on its own.
2. This is SUCH a great autumnal outfit, I think the high tops are just the perfect finish, and give the look a casual twist.
3. This skirt and t-shirt combo probably shouldn't work together, but they so totally do.  J'adore.
4. Creepers, pleather skirt and a rucksack all work so well together.  The beanie just makes it that perfect grunge look.
5. Note to self: wear a long jumper over a mini shirt dress in the summer.  Oh, and see if you can pull off a cap.

Friday Favourites: Halloween

Ah, Halloween!  It is over now, for another year, but I couldn't resist showing you my favourites.  I didn't have any plans this year so didn't dress up (sob) but I've had lots of fun seeing everyone else's looks and how much effort they've put into it.  If I was to dress up I'd definitely do the last one!  I also think doing your face as a Mexican/candy skull is a REALLY great idea, too.

1. Probably the most simple look, but really effective.  I actually really like this dress.
2. Black lipstick, black balloons and a skeleton tee.  Easy to recreate, I love it.
3. A long gown and skull make-up, such a good idea!  So it IS possible to look good on Halloween.
4. I adore the attention to detail in this look: the spiders, the cobwebs, everything.  Her hair looks amazing with it all, too.
5. I like how this isn't all about scary and yet still really creative.  I think it's great how she's holding a candle, too.
6. Aaaah this is SO good!  The make-up and the hair are awesome.
7. I'm always impressed when people make their own costumes!  It really does look like the cartoon character she was dressing up as, too.
8. Who knew someone could look SO cool, in their Halloween costume?  Damn.

Oh, and I can't not mention how much I also loved Jenna Marbles' costume - her and her boyfriend went as Chazz and Jimmy from the end of 'Blades of Glory', and they both helped to make the costumes, effing GENIUS.  If you haven't seen the video, watch it here.
And they have been my favourites this year!  I must say, I'm surprised that I've seen no one dressed as Sandy from the last scene in Grease due to the current obsession with disco pants, I mean, that must be an easy option, right?!
Did you dress up this year?  What did you go as?  I'd love to see!  My brother went as Lance Armstrong and wore a carboard sign around his neck saying 'Will race 4 drugs', because it's 'topical'.
Yeah...

Friday Favourites

I get style inspiration from several places but the main sources of my inspiration are fashion blogs, and without them I wouldn't have started mine. I catch up with them everyday and I don't only admire their pictures but I read what they have to say because I love finding out where they got their inspiration from for that particular outfit. This is where my fashion inspiration has come from this week, so they deserve at least a little bit of credit!

1. Checkered shirt, high-waisted shorts, a bowler hat and a pair of Dr. Martens.  Yep, this is good.  Real good.
2. This reminds me of the Balmain A/W '12 collection, which can only be a good thing.  I need me some of these trousers.
3. If you ever want to pull off dressing similar to a man, which I totally do, then use this look for inspiration.
4. I love the mixture of these two prints.  Simple but effective.
5. Berry colours, pleather collars and statement necklaces are where it's at this winter.  Perfection.
6. I fell in love with this outfit straight away, I kinda' sorta' really want a tartan print scarf, now.
7. Autumn is my favourite season for a lot of things, and one of those is Halloween.  I never thought someone would pull off looking like a skeleton so well, but Kavita definitely does.
8. I suddenly want to buy numerous jackets in different textures and start layering them.  I really like the colour of this green one.  Lovely.

1. Simple outfits are sometimes the best.  I'm a sucker for skirt and Converse combinations.
2. I love how this glam skirt has been toned down with a chunky knit and some casual boots.
3. How beautiful is this look?  The colour of the dress is so girlie, which makes the addition of the sleeveless biker jacket even more perfect.
4. Midi skirts are sometimes hard to style, but once I get round to buying one I will definitely be using this look as my inspiration.  Casual and comfy, but still feminine.
5. Lots of studded leather and a smiley face crop top.  If the word 'cool' was personified in an outfit, this would be it.

Part 1 of 2 of my inspiration posts from the most recent fashion month.  I'll write about it in the second part when I've shown you of all the looks I liked, but as you can see, there's quite a lot.  It's quite hard to remember at times that these collections were for summer, not winter, as I've taken inspiration from the more darker runway shows; Salvatore Ferragamo, Acne, Balmain (who is quickly becoming my favourite designer)... To name a few.  I really like the whole grunge, goth thing that's so easy to get away with in winter, so the fact that so many designers have adapted this to summer, is very pleasing for me.
