Denim shirt: TOPSHOP | Blue skinny jeans: ZARA | White round sunglasses: ASOS | Shoes: CONVERSE
Since I'd recently purchased my first pair of blue jeans in a year or so, I couldn't wait to try out the double denim look. I know it was a trend ages ago (ages for fashion, i.e. a couple of years ago) but this is the first chance I've had to try it out. And what easier items to experiment with than a denim shirt and a pair of jeans? Plus, denim never actually goes out of style, really. As I once read on Vogue 'The freshest way to wear denim is twice as nice'. I think the key to getting it right is wearing two completely different shades of denim, sooo that is what I did. I remember when the trend came about, a lot of people were quite sceptical and thought a whole two pieces of denim together is probably a bit O.T.T., but thanks to designers and celebrities such as Rihanna rocking the look, things quickly changed and it's now been revived with an effortlessly cool factor. Because it's quite a simple, androgynous material I thought my white sunnies were a must for the outfit, some gold bling bling and a slick of red lippy probably wouldn't have gone amiss, either, but I decided against it on this occasion.
How would you wear the double denim look? Would you wear it at all?
I have had about three hours of sleep after falling asleep at about half eight this morning, so I keep napping. When I was at college I easily survived off little sleep almost every day, but when you have to spend the day sitting around doing nothing, falling asleep on the couch is just too easy. I'll probably be sleeping quite early tonight (as in 4 a.m., which is now early for me), but I am planning to be back to my nocturnal self tomorrow night so I can stay up all night for results day on Thursday. I am quite optimistic about my results but we shall see, we shall.
