Christmas party dresses to suit each style

Studded bralet dress £80 TOPSHOP | Silver star tights £15 HOUSE OF HOLLAND | Teal velvet creepers £89 URBAN OUTFITTERS | Studded suede clutch £38 TOPSHOP | Feather jacket £90 TOPSHOP |
Spiky earrings £10 URBAN OUTFITTERS

Favourite item of clothing is probably: a camo jacket.  Beanie hat collection is essential.

Style icons are most likely to be: Rihanna, Rita Ora, Cara Delevingne.

When someone says grunge, one probably thinks of band tees and ripped tights, so maybe it's easy to argue that it can't be adapted to evening wear.  However, I beg to differ.  I'm not a heels wearing kind of girl, not at all, not even a little bit.  I don't know if you're reading this thinking 'There's no way I'd go to a party in flats', but it's kind of natural to me, I'm probably going to wear Converse to my own wedding.  I'm not joking.  I do think that creepers practically scream 'grunge' though, and I know some people hate them and some people love them, I happen to love them.  I think they'd look amazing with this little black number, and the accessories give the look enough to luxe to make it party ready.

Glitter print bodycon dress £45 WAREHOUSE | Blue leather biker jacket £150 MISS SELFRIDGE | Black bowler hat £25 TOPSHOP | Black Converse hi tops £42.99 AMAZON | Mint green nail varnish £2.99 BARRY M

Favourite item of clothing is probably: a leather jacket.

Style icons are most likely to be: Kristen Stewart, all off-duty models.

I've never been able to slot my style into a specific category, but out of the listed styles in this post I'd definitely put mine under 'Casual'.  As I just said, I don't wear heels.  I fully embrace, dare I say it, flats.  And a lot of you will probably know I have a favourite flat shoe to wear.  Oh yes, the Converse.  Previously featured in, oh, only about 95% of my outfit posts.  I don't own a pair in every single colour, but I must be close.  Fashion critics across the world are appalled when Kristen Stewart somtimes (rarely, in fact) chooses to wear them on the red carpet, so god knows how they'd cope with me... This is quite a simple outfit, and I thought the cobalt blue jacket was a perfect injection of colour.  I don't usually shop at Warehouse but I've had my eye on this dress for a few weeks.  They actually have some really great dresses no matter what your style is, so I'd definitely recommend checking them out if you're in need of a party dress!

Black sheer maxi dress £85 DAHLIA | Green glitter nail varnish £2.99 BARRY M | Red metallic ankle socks £8 URBAN OUTFITTERS | Small metal box clutch £39.99 ZARA | Spike jewel cross necklace £65 ASOS | Embellished heels £72 TOPSHOP

Your favourite item of clothing is probably: your fabulous new winter coat.  Or maybe your chunky knit jumper.  No, you black leather skirt!  Oh, it's too hard to choose...

Your style icons are most likely to be: Anna Dello Russo, Carrie Bradshaw.

Putting this look together was definitely fun.  I've never shopped at Dahlia as it's a little bit out of my price range, but what better time to splash than the party season?  I've been admiring their dresses for a while, too.  I chose this one as it's definitely a glamorous dress but yet it's not enough on its own, there's plenty of room to add luxe accessories and play dress up.  I included the metallic red and green touches so it's still a bit playful and in touch with the Christmas spirit.  I think this one is my favouite.

Silver diamante organza dress £55 MISS SELFRIDGE | Crystal drop earrings £30 CATH KIDSTON | Sequin peep-toe heels £45 TOPSHOP | Vintage style cocktail ring £10 RIVER ISLAND via ASOS | Pearl spike stone bracelets £12 ASOS | Fuchsia nail varnish £2.99 BARRY M

Your favourite item of clothing is probably: Anything sparkly.

Your style icons are most likely to be: Suri Cruise, Dakota Fanning.

Ah, nearly every girl loves to just feel pretty every now and again, don't they?  I think this dress is perfect.  It has the sparkles, it has feminine material and the shape is so body flattering.  Plus, it looks like it would be really fun to twirl in, which is always a good thing.  Because the sparkles in the dress are quite subtle I wasn't afraid to add even more bling, and the blue and the pink are the perfect little pops of colour but they also match well with the muted tone of the dress.  Perfect.

Black & silver chainmail maxi dress £55 MOTEL ROCKS | Vivid purple nail varnish £2.99 BARRY M | Purple lipstick £8 TOPSHOP | Animal print socks £4.50 MISS SELFRIDGE | Studded embellished clutch £32 MISS SELFRIDGE | Studded platform sandles £65 TOPSHOP | Deco swing earrings £10 MISS SELFRIDGE | Cross stretch bracelet £4 ASOS

Your favourite item of clothing is probably: your choker necklace. Coming back into fashion, are they? Psh, you've been wearing them for years.

Your style icons are most likely to be: Alice Dellal, Marilyn Manson.

Embrace your dark side by embracing the glam goth look, which is a look seen many times on the runway each a/w season.  Yes, this look is definitely wearable, and vampires are in right now, don't you know?  The dress looks amazing enough on its own, but add some over-the-top heels and a purple lipstick to get the maximum effect.  Bags of confidence is essential to pull this off.

Printed maxi dress £75 MISS SELFRIDGE | Crystal headband £10 RIVER ISLAND via ASOS | Nude feathered clutch £40 MISS SELFRIDGE | Studded strappy sandles £50 TOPSHOP | Layering necklace £18 URBAN OUTFITTERS | Hanging spike earcuff £12 URBAN OUTFITTERS | Feather earrings £6 OASIS via ASOS | Hanging cross arm cuff £5 ASOS

Favourite item of clothing is probably: a maxi dress.

Style icons are most likely to be: Nicole Richie, Sienna Miller.

Inspired by hippie and bohemian influences?  Then this look is for you.  It was at its height about eight years ago, but don't let that stop you, you could totally bring it back in this beatufiul maxi dress.  Don't be fooled into thinking boho can only be rocked in the summer, either, it can easily be adapted to evening wear.  Just make sure there's tones of black and lots of jewellery.  Oh, and feathers should be included somewhere.

Tweed dress with collar £75 SISTER JANE via TOPSHOP | Black patent loafers £28 TOPSHOP | Studded clutch bag £79.99 ZARA | Black bowler hat £18 ASOS

Favourite item of clothing is probably: a Chanel-esque boucle jacket, dahling.

Style icons are most likely to be: Alexa Chung, Cher in 'Clueless'.

Dressing preppy is keeping your look simple.  Thankfully for you collars are everywhere right now, meaning that, yes, it is possible to look preppy to a party.  It's normal to see Alexa Chung rocking a pair of loafers at a red carpet event these days, so if she can do it, so can you.  Pearl necklace is optional.

So there is my collection of party dresses to suit each style for the festive season.  I read in this week's Grazia magazine that it takes a woman twelve hours to choose a party outfit, so hopefully this has made the process much quiker for you.  As I've already said, I think the 'casual' look is more for me than the others, do you have a favourite?  I'd love to know which!

Please note: this is a sponsored post but I came up with the idea for the post and as you can see it's still completely relevant to my blog.  I still put a lot of time and effort into it and I have really enoyed doing it over the past few days, so I hope you enjoyed reading it!
