1. I CANNOT DEAL WITH HOW COOL THESE ARE OK BYE.
2. Out of everything on my wishlist this week, I've got to say this is my favourite (just).  It was love at first sight for me.  The pattern, the colours, the shape... Perfect!  It's an adrogynous piece so I'd go all out and team it with some boyfriend jeans and Converse.  Best- no, worst thing is, there's a matching skirt too which I saw yesterday.  NOW I MUST HAVE BOTH.  Please, please, oh please, get in my wardrobe.  No, really.
3. Howww cuh-uuute is this ring?  Very apt too seeing as I spend half of my life drawing at the moment.  Want!
4. I'm really digging all the sheer mesh panels on clothes at the moment (thanks Alexander Wang), this skirt is really cool and sexy and perfect for summer when worn with a cropped tee/cami vest.
5. Daaaaaamn this is one sexy shirt.  The colours are right up my street, let's all just take a moment to imagine this with some skin-tight leather pants and blue hi-tops (see #1).  Yep, I am there.  I am so there.
6. I saw this dress last night and actually really like it.  I say 'actually' because it's a bit girlie for my style, but I can only imagine how fit it would look with my arm tattoos (once I get them, that is...) and some red lipstick.  Ergh, be mine, BE MINE NOWWWWWW.
7. Sexy black dress with the cool, sports luxe feel which is always huge in summer seasons.  Need I say more?

P.S. My blogging mojo is slowly but surely coming back, bare with me!

Let's get high-waisted

Ah isn't it great when you decide to wear something (or rather something of your mum's, in this case...) which you had forgotten about and as soon as you put it on you vow never to forget it again, because it looks so awesome on?  That's what happened when I slipped on this faux leather jacket this morning.  I don't own many jackets apart from my quilted bomber jacket - which, let's face it, isn't exactly versatile - so re-welcoming this back into my wardrobe was definitely a good thing.  I mean, black leather jackets go with pretty much everything, right?  Even my (now fading) orange hair.

Jacket & top: TOPSHOP | Jeans: MISSGUIDED | Shoes: CONVERSE

This is one of my simple outfits as I'm much more of a wear-something-outrageous-and-stand-out-item kinda' girl, however I think going back to basics is good from time to time, plus people get on much better with these kind of outfits (but who gives a f*** about them?).  These jeans are the perfect piece of clothing for a casual day, literally my go-to pants.  I spent so long looking for the ideal high-waisted jeans and when I got my eyes on these babies I wasn't letting them get away (well, when they finally came back in stock) and thank jeebies I didn't.  I've lost count how many times I've worn them since I bought them, which isn't that long, but hey, I got my money's worth (especially seeing as they were only about twenty quid).

I can feel your heartbeat through my shirt

Skeleton top: TOPSHOP | Red 'New York' beanie hat: RIVER ISLAND | White fishnet top: FOREVER 21 | Skinny high-waisted jeans: MISSGUIDED | Shoes: CONVERSE

I was kind of experimenting with this outfit but I like it a lot more than I thought I would.  Do you ever do that?  Put an outfit on, look in the mirror and think 'Daaamn why didn't I try this before?', but hey, now I know I can wear it every bloody day.  Y'know, if I wanted to...
This skeleton ribs top is something I'd been looking for for a while before I finally found one, however it isn't the easiest thing to style.  Well, maybe if you're a goff, but I'm not.  Therefore when I wear it I try to balance it out and maybe team it with items which contrast with it.  Hence my decision to wear it with some jeans, less gothic, more casual.  This is the first time wearing the top and the jeans together and I think they go really well together with the top tucked in.  I'm not sure what my intention was when adding the fishnet top but actually it was a bloody good idea.  The beanie hat again contributed to the casual feel as well as giving it an edgy factor.
So there's what I wear on Valentine's Day: a skeleton top.  How very romantic of me.  I still have some sexy underwear on though.  Is anyone gonna see it?  NAH, but why the hell not?!  Makes you feel good, so...
Hope you've all had a lovely day/going to have a lovely night (cough cough) anyway.  This is my first one being single for, what, the past four years?  I'm not bitter though and I ain't a V Day hater, I love seeing a good old loved up couple!  And it's not like I haven't had loads of offers, I have, in fact it's getting a bit overwhelming now.  I mean, give a girl a break!
Yeeeeaaaaaaahhhhh....

3. Guys, I have found the hat of my dreams.  And there's a green one!  Ohhhhhh gosh.

30 January 2013

Turn up the lights in here baby.

Gold quilted bomber jacket & grey marl crop top: TOPSHOP | High-waisted jeans: MISSGUIDED | Shoes: CONVERSE

I'm really liking this gold bomber jacket.  It is quite an unusual piece and, erm, three sizes too big, but hey!  You win some you lose some.  Gold isn't a colour I wear, really, except in jewellery, but I do have a skirt in nearly this exact same material, so I thought it only made sense to buy the jacket too.  I haven't worn them together, but it's something I'm planning on doing pretty soon... Maybe it's a bad idea as they're both pretty 'out there' pieces on their own as it is, or maybe that's what will make them work so well together.  Am excited.
I thought the jacket would go great with this outfit as the jeans are the crop top are both quite simple items so they can be easily dressed up.  The crop top is a new buy which I bought knowing it would go well with these jeans, I think the midriff is one of the more flattering sections of your body to show off which is why it's like these jeans were sent from fashion heaven.  The Topshop ones look amazing too but I can't afford them at the moment, maybe some time in the distant future...
So I've spent my day writing up my '50 Facts' post, I've been thinking of them over the last few days and I finally managed fifty.  It's not that fifty things is a lot about one person but I'm not very good at thinking on the spot and it's better if I let them come to me.  I'm also going to do a video on it so I'll put them at the same time, maybe tomorrow.  I plan to video a few things tomorrow, including a haul too.  Hopefully the weather will be okay for some outfit photos too, I much prefer outdoor pictures.  I love having a blog, it makes my days feel much more productive when I'm doing bloggy-related stuff.

But that was love and it's an ache I still remember

Vest top: URBAN OUTFITTERS | Blue triangle bra: TOPSHOP | Chunky boyfriend watch: RIVER ISLAND |
High waisted jeans: MISSGUIDED | Shoes: CONVERSE

The jeans are out again... If Kate Middleton is 'thrifty' for wearing something twice, then I am now the thriftiest person on earth.  I'm not even a big jeans wearer, this is only my second pair, but recently I have been fully embracing more androgynous looks over dresses.  Plus it's been bloody freezing what with the snow and all, so jeans seem like the most sensible option at the moment.  My love for them is definitely down to the high waist, they fit so perfectly and are super flattering.  I still can't believe I only paid twenty pounds for them, w-o-w.
The bra and the top are both new purchases, and both from the sales, and I wanted them both when they were full price too.  Yep, I have been incredibly lucky with my sales shopping this year, which gives 2013 a very good start.
I properly dig vest tops which have a large sleeve hole (apologies if there's an official name for these, I can't remember at all...) so you can flash a bit of your bra.  This triangle bra is such a bright colour and the thin strap makes it nice and feminine, giving the perfect touch to this boyish outfit.  Plus it matches with my shoesies, did you notice?  Sure you didddd.
Hope you're all having a nice weekend! My brother and I walked to my dad's in the snow today - brrrr! - and then we watched 'Man on Fire'.  I have seen before but had forgotten it, but I really enjoyed it! (Again).  I'm a big fan of Denzel and his acting, he's so badass.  It had my holding back the tears at the end though, I'm a pussy when it comes to films.  Have you seen the trailer for the new film he's in?  That looks good too and has been added to my 'To watch' list.
The rest of the night will be spent watching absolute crud on television with the ma'.  Sorted.

I have loved you all along

Black felt bowler hat: TOPSHOP | 'Run DMC' band tee: URBAN OUTFITTERS | Acid wash high waisted jeans: MISSGUIDED | Chunky boyfriend watch: RIVER ISLAND | Shoes: CONVERSE

Yeah, I'm wearing these jeans again, sorry I'm not sorry.  They pretty much haven't been off my legs since I received them.  I'm having fun experimenting with different things to team them with, but one of the first things I wanted to try was a band tee.  I have a Kiss one which I got given for Christmas, and another Run DMC one which I've had for years, but apparently two isn't enough, because I visited Urban Outfitters and came out with this one.  In my defense, though, it was in the sale for a tenner, which is, what?  Like eighteen pounds off?  And it does look really great tucked into these jeans.
That being said, it does look like quite a boyish outfit, which I am totally down with, I dig it when girls rock the whole adrogyny thing, but I thought the addition of some girly touches would make it perfect, which is where the felt hat and the red lipstick came in.  Although I suppose the bowler hat could also be seen as quite a manly item?  Hey, I'm down with it.  In fact after just looking back at the pictures you know what would have been AMAZING with this look?  SOME BRACES.  I've needed the excuse to buy some for ages - ever since seeing Chloe Sevigny rocking them years ago - and now I've found one.  Or a blazer would have given this a glam touch... Man, the options are endless!
I have some exciting news - I've booked to go to Paris!  PARIS, people!  One of the four fashion capitals in the world, full of sexy accents, romantic men, chic women and cute little cafés.  Oh, and something else... Oh yeah, THE EIFFEL TOWER.  I have a massive case of wanderlust and seeing the Eiffel Tower is way up there on my bucket list.  I'm going with my uni's fashion society and I don't even know if they'll take us there, but maybe when they go on some pub crawl (apparently it's one of the biggest in the world - no thanks, though!) I could venture off and go and see it.
This is taking me way out of my comfort zone, I'm going with 160 people(!) who I don't know and I think they're all going with their friends anyway, plus it clashes with my 19th birthday when I'm there (booo) but after a little encouragement from my mum I couldn't say no, I mean how could I claim to be someone who wishes to experience the world and yet turns down an opportunity to visit one of the most famous cities ever?
Oh, and the best thing?  Paris fashion week, MY FAVOURITE FASHION WEEK, will be happening whilst we're there, meaning we might get to see a show or two, which also happens to be on my bucketlist.  I bet the street style will be pretty damn amazing too.
That will happen at the end of February to the start of March.  Gosh, I hope it will be as good as I expect it to be...

If you want it, let's do it...

Red crop top & rose gold earrings: TOPSHOP | High waisted jeans: MISSGUIDED | 'Comme des Fuckdown' hat: EBAY | Shoes: CONVERSE

So I've been quite good over the past week as in I've found a few good things in the sales, but then I've been bad and still continued to buy items at full price.  I'd act all guilty and sorry, buuuut I'm not.  Hello, these jeans?  Yeah.  They may have been full price, but I got them for twenty two pounds, not including the student discount.  Er, wow?  Considering the famous AA Easy Jeans are going for a whopping sixty five squid, and Topshop have intoduced some for almost half that price, these are still the cheapest I've found.  And the only acid-wash ones, which is an effect I happen to really like.  I have had a couple of fashgasms over these babies, once when I saw the price of them online, and again when I tried them on.  Dayum.
There is a little story behind them: first it wouldn't let me add them to my basket, so I nagged and nagged Missguided on Twitter (it was NYE and they were very busy, in their defense) asking them why this was, and after two days of nagging (for real, I wasn't letting them get away that easily!) they got back to me saying it meant they were out of stock, even though it said they were available.  So I added them to my Favourites and checked back every day until - yay! - the 'add to bag' button had appeared!  Then I had to decide which size.  Y'know what shops are like these days - I'll be one size in Topshop and a different size in Zara, etc.  So I kind of took a stab in the dark and went a size-up, wrongggg, too big.  I tried to see past it and even put them through the wash on the first night in desperate hope that they'd be tighter the next morning.  Wrong, again.  So I told my mum last night and she said 'Well I'll have them ones because I like mine baggy and you get them in a 10', so I happily agreed and went to add the size 10 to my basket before they ran out of stock again.
Now I have to mention Missguided's delivery.  Like I said, I purchased them last night, they got dispatched within an hour or so later and they arrived on my doorstep this morning.  I paid something like £1.95 for the slowest delivery option they had, and I still received them in, what?  Like fifteen hours?  This is the quickest I've ever come across, I've seen quite a lot of shoppers give stick to them online, but I cannot fault them.
After all that I tried them on today and they fit amazingly, the length is perfect, the colour... Everything.  I am so pleased.  This is like the only crop top me (my mum, rather) owns, but I will definitely invest in some more now.  I think the little part of skin they show off together is so flattering.

That was a lot of words to say I was only talking about a pair of jeans, but come on, DEY SO SEXY.
Oh!  And this hat is new too, I've been after one of these for a while and finally bought one.  I've only seen them in black and grey before so when I found this burgundy one I couldn't resist.  I've asked everyone in my house "Do you get it?  Do you get the play on words?" whilst pointing at my hat.  None of them looked very impressed, plus I had to describe each time that there is a brand called 'Comme des Garcons'.  You get it though, right...?

And does owning this mean I can be a full-time gangstah now?
Brap brap!

Wishful Wednesday

As you can see I'm getting much more into pastel shades now, except the black blazer, but I've been on the search for a perfect blazer which is under £50 for years, and this one found me!
I want to invest in a clutch bag, and I really like the colours of this one, plus the chain strap is ideal for me.
I love this green shirt because of the cut-out detail and the dipped-hem, unfortunately I don't think I'd purchase as I don't own a green bra or vest top, and I'm not one to wear a completely different coloured bra under a sheer shirt as I'd want the attention to be on the shirt, not what's underneath it...
I'd love to own a short suit come summer time.  I can just imagine these shorts and a matching blazer (although I don't think it actually comes with a matching blazer, damn it) paired with a white tee and a pair of my converse.  Perfect outfit for a nice summer's day, I think!
And of course you can't forget to leave the house with a few cool pieces of jewellery on!  Crosses are a mini trend going on at the moment and I think they're really cool but simple, which is why I'm wishing for this ring this week!
