What I'll be wearing at PFW

On Friday:

Black dungarees, blue mirrored aviator sunglasses & book clutch: ASOS | White fishnet top: FOREVER 21 | Shoes: CONVERSE

The dungarees suit has been a fashion week definite for me ever since I bought it in early January.  I've worn it with the fishnet top before, which I actually bought specificially to go with the dungs, and it's a combination which works really well together.  I'm hoping the weather will be warm enough (feeling brave saying the word 'warm' so early in the year, crikey) for me to not need my coat as that would ruin it really wouldn't it?  But then again, even if it's not, it's fashion week, if I have to catch a cold to look good, I will.

On Saturday:

Sport t-shirt, neon pink beanie hat & galaxy print socks: TOPSHOP | Black PU midi skater skirt & gold chunky necklace: ASOS | Shoes: CONVERSE

Or...

'ACDC' baseball tee: URBAN OUTFITTERS | Socks & neon pink beanie: TOPSHOP | Black PU midi skater skirt: ASOS

I'm not sure between these two outfits, fairly similar I can't decide on which top to wear?  The top one is one which I've been planning to wear for ages but the lower one is a very new addition to my wardrobe, one that I've been wanting for a while but only bought on Monday as a birthday treat to myself.  I think this one would look good with the beanie but should I go for my first choice?  Let  know what you think.
P.S. Check out the statement socks.  Easy way to inject a bit of colour, hey?

For travelling:

Leather pants & embroidered tiger sweater: TOPSHOP | Shoes: CONVERSE

I'm setting off at about half five tomorrow and I will get there at about half eight the next morning.  I don't want to do the maths but that's a lot of hours on a coach and that's a lot of hours on a ferry, which together add up to lots and lots of hours.  I wanted something simple and fairly comfortable to travel in and my leather pants aren't the greatest choice but they're not the worst one, either.  I like the top as it's a casual sweater shape but the print still keeps it cool, plus the orange in the tigers goes with my orange hair, but that's neither here nor there...

Dunga-do

Black dungarees: ASOS | Red 'New York' beanie hat: RIVER ISLAND | Gold quilted bomber jacket & sport t-shirt: TOPSHOP | Shoes: CONVERSE (via SCHUH)

I simply cannot get enough of these dungarees.  Saying that, I can't get enough of this t-shirt either.  So it kind of makes perfect sense to put them both together, right?  I thought because they are both masculine pieces that wearing them with each other was just asking to look like a boy trapped in a girl's body, but what the hell.  I've always what it'd be like to be a boy for a day, anyway.  Plus, surely the red lipstick helps to tell everyone that I am feminine, even just the teensiest bit?
The dungz are already a wardrobe favourite of mine despite only having them for a few weeks.  I'm so glad they made a comeback this winter and are going to be just as popular during next season too.  This means practically every high street store is stocking them and in various colours and fabrics, too.  Can I have one of each please?  You could argue that I won't get much wear out of these as surely I'll store them away once the summer weather comes?  Mais non, you would be wrong.  I'd team it with a sheer blouse or a neon camisole top instead, maybe this orange one from Topshop?
I will bet someone a whole five pounds I see at least ten pictures of girls wearing denim dungarees to festivals this summer.  Anyone...?  I think the black colour of these, though, really helps to just make them chic, rather than toddler-esque.  They're still not very flatterying and saying 'sexy dungarees' would be a huge oxymoron but, hey, I love 'em.
Have you bought some dungarees?  Maybe you think they're a huge dunga-don't?

$ All I see is dollar signzzz $

Gold quilted bomber jacket: TOPSHOP | Red 'New York' hat: RIVER ISLAND | White fishnet top: FOREVER 21 | Black dungarees suit: ASOS | Shoes: CONVERSE

A dungarees: like a onesie, for daytime.
Dungarees are pretty much everywhere it the moment, in several different forms: dresses, shorts or the full suit.  These are also in a variety of fabrics, from leather to velvet.  I bought a dungarees denim dress from Topshop a while ago which has featured on my blog numerous times, and since wearing that I've been wanting to get my hands on a pants one.  Luckily for me, they've been dropping into a few stores recently, ASOS and Topshop mostly from what I've seen, and out of all of them this one was my favourite.  ASOS also did a similar one in a faux leather material, which was super cool as well, but that sold out and plus it was a little more expensive, so I went for this, which feels a bit denimy but isn't...
I added it to my wishlist as soon as I saw it online a few weeks ago but didn't take the plunge due to the £45 price tag, which I couldn't afford, but when has not being able to afford things ever stopped me before?  Exactly... After seeing it on a few blogs, including 'Into the Fold' and 'NRC', I decided to just go for it and added it to my basket, and to my door it came a few days later.
I don't know why or where my inspiration come from but whilst it was on my way I decided I wanted a white fishnet top to go with it.  Now, a bit later on, I think I could have subconciously been thinking about Rihanna's look on 'Styled to Rock'.  I went on search for the perfect fishnet top, which surprisingly not many places sell, but much to my pleasure a few days later I spotted this one 'La Vagabond Dame'.  I've never ordered from Forever 21 before and for some reason I suspected the delivery would be as bad as H&M, but I was wrong and it arrived very quickly.
Today is the first time I've worn them together and I think they look perfect with each other and I'm pretty sure I have fallen in love with this outfit.  The bomber jacket and the beanie hat added a bit of a street edge to the look, and the red lipstick was just an obvious choice, I'm starting to wear it a lot more recently.  One of my favourite looks in a while I think, and I can't wait to style this dungarees with different tops.  What do you think of dungarees, would you go there?  I know they're not for everybody's taste.

Wishful Wednesday

1. Black dungarees £45 ASOS | 2. Galaxy tee £14 PZZL CLOTHING | 3. 'SKINT' sweater £20 ILLUSTRATED PEOPLE via TOPSHOP | 4. Neon spike earrings £7.50 TOPSHOP | 5. Hexagon sunglasses £14 TOPSHOP | 6. Cream knit jumper £18.99 ARK

1. This dungarees just needs to get in my life.  End of.
2. PZZL Clothing is a brand I recently found through Tumblr, they've just started so they don't have much stock yet but I really like their cool galaxy tees.
3. The perfect grungy item, team them with some boyfriend jeans and Nike Blazers and you can't go wrong.
4. Neon is so cool, if you're not feeling brave enough to wear a whole garment in neon though, these are just what you need.
5. It's nott he season for sunglasses, but I still can't help liking these.
6. One cannot have enough jumpers.  Plus this one is really affordable.

Wishful Wednesday

1. Blue cable knit sleeve jumper £39 MISS SELFRIDGE | 2. Grey glitter skater dress £19.99 ARK |
3.
Blue velvet dungarees £38 TOPSHOP | 4. Fur trim khaki coat with PU sleeves £95 ASOS |
5.
Printed long sleeve top £25.99 ZARA | 6. Black stripe mesh jumper £39 MISS SELFRIDGE

1. I think cobalt blue is my favourite colour to wear, however I don't think I own anything in this colour.  Say whaaaat?  I like how it's just the sleeves which are the cable knit rather than the whole jumper.
2. I like the colour of this, and who can resist a bit of glitter and sparkle when Christmas is getting closer and closer?  With a grey smokey eye and my purple Converse I can definitely see this working.
3. This is a really unique piece as dungarees are usually denim as you probably know but the velvet material definitely amps up the luxe factor.  I would wear this with a white, sheer, Victorian style shirt underneath.  Parfait!
4. Oh I think I've found my winter coat... Not like I can afford it, but I can pretend.  I must like this one a lot as it doesn't have a hood but I still want it.  I'll just have to buy a brolly instead...
5. I saw this in store last week, thought 'Noo' then literally a second later after looking a bit closer at it thought 'OH MAH GOD I love it!'.  I adore the print and how the bottom half is striped.  I can't stop thinking about this top.  HELP.
6. This is sexy.  I like that.  I would team it with a pair of jeans and just a black bra underneath.  Done.

These should all be mine later as I'm planning on winning the lottery tonight.  F.Y.I.

Evie Knight A/W '12 Lookbook

All images from Evie Knight
Please note: this is not a sponsored post.

Ohhh just LOOKING at this lookbook makes me excited. You know the rare moments when you're looking through a brand's lookbook and you just flick through it like 'Yep, like that. Oooh, I love that! I LIKE THAT TOO!'? Yeah, well this was my reaction to the latest one from a brand called Evie Knight. You may or may not have heard of them (yet), but basically they're a new online boutique on ASOS Marketplace, selling well altered vintage clothing for us fashion lover-lovers.
In their own words:
"Evie Knight is an array of alluring clothes and accessories for the fashion free spirit! We hope to adorn you with beautiful threads that make you look as unique as you are! Stand out from the crowd with your ragged levi studded shorts and unique vintage tie-dye tees! Make a statement in your Texan sun-drenched floral tea dress and wild-at-heart customised leather biker jacket! At Evie Knight HQ we obsess over every detail of each unique piece of treasue we come across from the UK to the USA so you can be the style icon you were always meant to be."
Well, they had me at 'ragged levi shorts'. If I was asked to describe my style I didn't think I'd ever use the words 'vintage lover'. It's never really been my thing. Why go to a vintage shop to search through racks and racks of other people's clothes, (I clearly don't know a lot about vintage shopping) when you can just pop to Topshop and get something brand new. But you know what; these pictures are starting to convert me. And I do actually now own a pair of vintage (yes, vintage) Levi's shorts, which I LOVE, so I'd definitely like to add some more to my collection. These images and clothes have completely changed my opinion on vintage clothes, as you can actually look like a cool, 90s chick rather than a, erm, granny.
Oh, and the best thing? You won't be caught wearing the same thing as someone else.

I thought I'd challenge myself to choose my three top things from their store. I obviously have a thing for their chunky knits, but I couldn't resist the dungarees, as I have been after one for ages and this would be perfect.
Well, I'm sold.
