Blue Stripes

Blue stripe jumper & studded biker boots: ASOS | Black skater skirt: RIVER ISLAND | Necklace: TOPSHOP

I didn't realise quite how unflattering this jumper was until looking back at these photos.  Wow, it's puh-ritty bad, isn't it?  Y'know when you buy something because it looks really cool on the model and you don't even consider it probably won't look the same on you?  Yeah... I've got to say though, I still kinda' like it... I mean, the ugly shape makes it different, but good different I think.  It's definitely a man repeller, in fact a people repeller altogether, but I can live with that.
I bagged it in the last period of the sale for £12.50, so even if I was gonna complain I probably shouldn't.  I felt like it was the last kid left who hadn't been picked for a team in sport so and I felt sorry for it, y'know?  I mean, I always got picked first in P.E. because I was the best (totally smug) but I could empathise.  I thought the shape made it cool and quirky which is why I bought it, had it been a normal jumper I wouldn't have given it a second look.  I really like the stripes, they're probably not flattering either, but I like them all the same.  The material is that horrible itchy stuff and I try to wear a long-sleeved top under it, but we'll just forget that part shall we?  I teamed it with a plain black skirt to keep things simple and I felt better showing my legs, I don't think I would have gotten away with the outfit had I covered all of me up.  I thought the cool necklace just gave it a little sumthin'-sumthin' and the shoes have the 'wow' factor, so I thought they'd glam the outfit up a bit and make it more interesting, rather than my casual Chucks.  Red lipstick wouldn't have gone amiss but I left it at uni, d'oh.
I'm off to Paris tomorrow!  Today will be spent scheduling blog posts and Youtube videos and last minute shopping for things like a plug adapter. I leave tomorrow at about five p.m., arrive in France at half eight the next morning (jeeeeez!) which will be on my birthday and then am back late Sunday night.  I hope it's really good and that Paris will live up to my expectations, which are pretty damn high.

Wishful Wednesday

1. Black embroidered mesh skirt £40 MISS SELFRIDGE | 2. Studded biker boots £75 RIVER ISLAND via ASOS |
3.
Burnout letter tee £22 TOPSHOP | 4. Textured grunge neon snood £16 TOPSHOP |
5.
Contrast floral print tee £32 TOPSHOP | 6. ACDC baseball tee £35 URBAN OUTFITTERS |
7.
Claw stone ring £5 TOPSHOP

I think this is my favourite 'Wishful Wednesday' posts in quite a while.  I don't just like each thing on here, I really, really like them.  Apparently I'm going through a little bit of a black phase, but I'm okay with that, because I think this letter top and the sheer skirt would be the perfect additions to my wardrobe.  I think the tee would look amaaaazing with a pair of skinnies, coloured or black.  Oh DAMN YOU spending ban, DAMN YOU.  The skirt would look perfect contrasted with a pair of my Converse.
I find it quite hard to come across the perfect biker boot, but every now and then one pops up, and the latest pair to catch my eyes is this one - the length, the studs, the buckles - yes, yes yes.
This snood is such a great piece and and I want it, I want it, I want it.  The colour is goooorgeous and I would wear it always, cold or not.  Yep.
This mixed print t-shirt is possibly my favourite item from all of these.  I think the print look so good against each other and it's not an item of clothing you see everyday.  Again, spending ban - I hate you.
I have been after a baseball tee for sooooo long with a print on the chest but apparently that task is impossible, until now suckaaah!  And what better print to have than ACDC?  I love this, I don't love the price.  Hmph.

Please excuse my moaning - I haven't gone shopping in a really long time (for me) and finding it quite hard to get used to... Oh god, I can't stop *slaps own wrist*.

My pick of the best ASOS shoes - 50% off

1. Flatform ankle boots £22.50 | 2. Buckled knee boots £54 FAITH | 3. Spotted high top trainers £32.50 CONVERSE | 4. Patent flatform brogues £28.50 | 5. Studded chelsea boots £33 | 6. Studded western boots £75 PARK LANE | 7. Flatform ankle boots £29

So I discovered yesterday that ASOS have 50% off on some of their shoes - 1720 of them, in fact.  Now I knew I wouldn't be buying any as money is non-existent in my life right now, but I couldn't help having a browse.  It doesn't hurt to pretend, right?  I didn't bother looking at the heels as, even though I can appreciate a sexy shoe heel or not, I'm not a heels kinda' girl.  So I just checked the boxes next to 'flat shoes', 'trainers' and 'boots' and off I went.  Sometimes I can go through pages and not see anything I like, and other times I will be clicking on every other thing and be adding it to my wishlist.  This was one of those times.  ASOS do amazing discounts and they make it really, really, hard to not buy something.  Trust me, I've been there and bought numerous t-shirts.  And then some.  I mean, the studded western boots are still £75, but they have been reduced from £120, which is a puh-ritty big amount, letting you appreciate the price of them much more.
If I was lucky enough to be able to pick one from this lot, I think I'd go for the monochrome brogue flatforms.  They're different to any other shoes I own and would be so versatile - you could team them with a pair of cropped, printed trousers or add a masculine edge to a feminine dress.  Lovely.

Now I'm not sure when this whole 50% off thing finishes, but it's been on for a few days so I'm guessing not for much longer.  Have you bought anything?  Will you be doing?

God knows, God knows I've fallen in love...

Black & white floral bouquet dress & elephant rings: TOPSHOP | Gold chunky necklace & studded flatform boots: ASOS

I am quite mad at myself for not remembering to take a picture of the back of this dress, as that's the best bit.  You can see the back of it in yesterday's haul post, but it looks much better on when you can see my tattoos.  Ah well, next time!  As I've said before, I try to avoid buying dresses when possible because sometimes when you've worn them once you can't wear them in many different ways, so you get bored, and then end up selling it on eBay.  Sometimes, though, I come across a dress which is too nice to refuse, and I convince myself I will discover lots of different ways to wear it, and I buy it.  This dress is one of those.
It's about a month old I think, and I spotted it on the website before going to the store and seeing I liked it as much as I thought.  Which, naturally, I did.  I think it's the print that really sold it to me, I like the patches of the print contrasted against the stripes.  Monochromatic items of clothing aren't usually what I go for, not really sure why, but I like that about this dress and how it just opens more choices for you when it comes to what you wear with it.  The red lipstick and the neon nails were essentials for me to make this outfit what it is.  I wasn't sure the boots would go but I did like how they looked together when I tried them on, and I think the gold necklace and the rings subtly match with the little gold studs on the boots.  This dress would also go really well with a big chunky cardigan over it in a bold colour, like forest green.
Sometimes it's nice to just wake up in the morning, just pick out a nice dress out of your wardrobe and not have to do much to your outfit after that.
So I last week I asked you, on here and on Twitter, if I should go back to my natural hair colour (a dirty blonde).  All of you who answered pretty much said 'Yes! Do it!', which helped a lot because I couldn't decide what to do for the life of me, so I've come to the decision that next time I visit the hairdresser's I will be going back.  I didn't think I'd ever go back because I thought dirty blonde was a bit boring, but some old pictures, as well as Cara Delevingne, have completely changed my mind.  I'm excited to have a bit of a change, you know what us girls are like with our hair.
I'm going home for Christmas tomorrow, YAY!  I've only been at univeristy for one term but I am sooo ready for a break.  I'm going to go home, spend lots of time with my mum and other family, bake a lot, watch a lot of movies and daytime TV, just... Bliss.  Cannot wait.

Can you make it feel like home, if I tell you you're mine

Ganesha tee: URBAN OUTFITTERS | Blue pom pom hat: TOPSHOP | Pleather skater skirt: RIVER ISLAND |
Studded boots: ASOS

It's the weekend, YAY.  Well, for me it is anyway, don't hate 'cause you ain't me.  A simple outfit for a relatively simple finish to the working week, and I actually like it more after seeing these pictures.  I sometimes feel a little too boring when I wear just a skirt and a t-shirt, it feels like the easy option, but after seeing these it's clear that, when you feel like just throwing on a couple of things, you should just go with it.  Plus, my amazing boots (have really fallen back in love with these) help to make the outfit look a little more glam, a little more dressed up.
I do like the colours of the tee with the faux leather material, and I think the loose, baggy fit makes the top look really good when it's tucked in.  I decided to wear mostly black or dark colours so the t-shirt would inevitably be the focal point of the outfit.  I mean, it's too cool to not show off, right?!  I'm such an Urban Outfitters addict now.  Even though I don't have the money for it (or for anywhere) at the moment, I still go to look in when I can and am constantly browsing their website.  I don't really like any other lifestyle brands, but there's nothing I don't like about UO (well, accept maybe their prices... Okay, definitely their prices).  The clothes, the shoes, the underwear, even the visual merchandising.  They just have it spot on for me, and it's definitely encouraging my grungy, quirky style to come out even more.  The thing I love the most, though, is their homeware.  Now, I don't really have a home to decorate right now, but I can't help buying stuff even now.  I have a couple of things from them for Christmas, too... They have a niche, and I like that.  I really wanted the pug Christmas tree topper for this year, but it's sold out.  Damn it...
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!  I'm slowly getting into the festive spirit now.  I mean, I love Christmas (d'uh) but I just haven't got the full feeling yet.  I'm sure that will change once the tree goes up, and when I've seen the Shakin' Stevens video (my favourite) on the music channel, and when I've watched 'Love Actually' for the 36th time.  Saying that, mum and I watched 'A Miracle on 34th Street' yesterday with some Christmassy smelling candles on, so that definitely helped.  Plus, some of my relatives who live in Canada are coming back to England for the holiday, who I haven't seen in years, so that should be really nice to see them.  'Tis the season!

All I want is the taste that your lips allow

Black faux fur gilet: TOPSHOP | Skull long sleeved top & coated mini skirt: ZARA | Black studded boots: ASOS

Who ever said wearing all black in an outfit is boring, eh?  Well, probably me at some point, actually... But I can safely say I have now changed my mind.  There are so many people who rock all-black looks, and I immediately get inspired by their effortless coolness, so I couldn't help but try to give black another chance.  I'm not a hater of the colour, not at all, I just tend to not wear it too much to avoid it looking boring and easy.  I don't even think I own an LBD which, you know, literally every other woman has in her wardrobe.  I usually look to inject some colour through my Converse.  As you can see, though, I am a changed woman.  I still love me some colour, don't get me wrong, but this outfit has resulted in me feeling effortlessly chic all day.
A big part of this is my new top from Zara which I bought last week.  I really like it.  I'm pretty sure it was the last one in the whole shop as it was just stuck on a random rail without a tag on it.  I checked it was in my size and then kept hold of it because I have discovered that Zara bring in new stock like there's no tomorrow, so going away to think about buying it wasn't an option.  I don't usually buy long sleeved tops, they're mostly vests or t-shirts.  I'm not sure why this is because I do really like long sleeves and obviously they're much more practical for this time of year.  I think it's the print which really sold it to me, it's made up of insects and bones and such (see last picture), which I think is really cool.  I cannot wait to pair this with my new leather pants, but I also think it would look really good with a denim skirt in summer, too.  Oh, and under my dungarees dress!  Ah, the options are endless! *Gets all giddy.*
I've just got to say something about these boots.  I haven't worn them in a while as I've been all about my Converse recently, but since trying these on for the first time in a while the other day I haven't really had them off my feet.  I love them.  <3
I've had a banging day off today, I have.  I went to sleep at like half three last night this morning because I stayed up watching videos on Youtube (thank you, 'vlogmas'!) and then lay in until half eleven.  Bliss.  And I'm a big sucker for daytime television, so I haven't been stuck for something to do.  One more lecture tomorrow and then I can go hoooome, hopefully putting the tree up this weekend too, yay.
Last thing - I'm in the process of deciding what to do with my hair.  Sometimes I want to go lighter, and then I see a picture of Cara Delevingne and I want to back to my natural, dirty blonde.  I posted an old picture on Twitter of my natural hair colour and got some lovely feedback, so please let know what you think!  I'm also considering dying it pink, so all suggestions are welcome...
