Wishful Wednesday

1. Knitted shaggy tassle jumper £38 TOPSHOP | 2. Dip-dye vest top £7.99 H&M | 3. Handcuff bangle £7 TOPMAN |
4.
Skull tee £20 CRAFTED via REPUBLIC | 5. Gold baroque print skirt £24.99 HEARTS & BOWS via ARK |
6.
Knitted geo maxi dress £65 TOPSHOP

1. I spotted this a few weeks or so ago and I like it more each time I see it.  I think it's the shredded tassels which sold it to me, perfect with a simple pair of black skinny jeans and some Converse.
2. This is really simple but such a cool piece.  At a very low price I'm not surprised it's sold out online.
3. Sometimes Topman has equally as cool jewellery as Topshop does, I don't know why I don't browse there more often.
4. I reeeally like the print on this top.  It has an awesome back, too.
5. Baroque n' roll, baby. I haven't liked that many baroque pieces this season, despite it being a massive trend, but I do lust after this one. Great with a simple black tee and a statement necklace.
6. Not my usual piece of clothing to go after, but there's something about this which drew me in.  I think it's the fact that you could throw this in with some Chucks in a matter of thirty seconds, with your bed hair, and immediately look like the coolest girl in the world.

Cross my heart

Camo jacket & black coated bowling bag: TOPSHOP | Grey vest with cut-out cross back: REPUBLIC (Crafted brand) | Contrast grey snood: ASOS | Skinny jeans: ZARA | Shoes: CONVERSE

I feel like Autumn is pretty much a rollercoaster ride in respect to what the weather is going to be like.  You can wake up in the morning to a bright, sunny day, and once lunch time hits the clouds have swallowed up the sun and it's much chillier outside.  Thankfully there is a solution to stop one leaving the house in a summer dress only to be really regretting it hours later, and that solution is layering.  Not only are layered outfits completely practical for this season, but fortunately for us, everyone can layer.  Yep, this isn't just some trend that you will have forgotten about in a few months, layering is something that is a huge hit every A/W season.  In fact for a lot of countries, England especially (ahem), it's pretty much a necessity.  I actually think that finding the right mix of colours and textures to go together makes getting dressed even more fun.
My camo jacket makes such an easy layering piece.  I try not to wear it too much as nearly every single person on my fashion course has a similar jacket (I HAD IT FIRST, OK?), but once the novelty wears off I'll start wearing it more again.  It is over-sized and quite a heavy piece (albeit very comfortable) which means it's a great transitional item as you don't have to wear a big, winter coat over it but it still keeps you warm enough throughout the day.  For now it does, anyway.  I then added this snood.  This is also great for layering as I don't need a big, chunky scarf just yet, and this is nice and light.  I actually didn't need it in the morning as it was a bit too warm, so I just popped it in my bag and wore it later on when it started to get colder.
This top is a new purchase which you might have seen in my mini haul post a few days ago.  I really like the faded grey colour and the frayed hem, but the back of it was definitely its selling point for me.  Naturally a few of the studs have come off already, which was what I was expecting, but nothing a bit of superglue can't fix.
Hope you all have a nice weekend!  I don't think I'm really do anything apart from going out for lunch later and then into town.  I might be going to see 'The Perks of being a Wallflower' at the cinemas as I've read the book and I've heard the film is really good.  I went to see 'Taken 2' on Wednesday and that was AWESOME.  Liam Neeson has one hundred percent still got it, he kicked butt and I was on the edge of my seat throughout.

New Topshop sale & Republic purchases

Studded cross back vest & racer back vest: REPUBLIC (Crafted brand)

Blue military style shirt & underwear sets: TOPSHOP (sale)

Can you believe that I have been shopping again?  Yeah, so can I... I've decided that I need to go on one shopping trip a week, or else, well, I won't be satisfied will I?  Ahem.
I never really shop in Republic, I've only ever had access to an actual store since I moved to Manchester, but ever since seeing this vest in one of Grace's Youtube videos, I have wanted to buy it.  So I went into the store a few days later, couldn't find it.  Tried again yesterday, thought I found it when I saw this grey vest, but alas, it wasn't the right one.  However I did like this one anyway so I ended up buying it, as you can see.  And then I saw the red one, and I bought that too... They definitely have the grunge factor, with their dark shades and frayed hems, and I really like the low sleeve holes, so I just had to buy.  I can't wait to wear these.
The reason I went shopping in the first place yesterday is because Topshop emailed about them having a sale on.  Now I've never been to a Topshop sale in their massive Manchester store before, so I just had to go and check it out as quick as I could.  I could have done a lot more damage to my bank than I did, though, so I thought I've been pretty sensible.  These were all easy buys for me.  I've wanted this military shirt ever since it became available online, and I even included it in a 'Wishful Wednesday' post a couple of months or so ago, so when I saw that this had been reduced to £20, man, was I a happy chappy.  They also do one in a khaki green colour, but I've always preferred the blue version so I just left it at this one.  And how can a girl say no to a couple of pretty sets of underwear in the sale?  I also had my eye on these sets when they were full price, but I find it harder to justify spending twenty five pounds or whatever on underwear, when you can buy a cool top which everyone is going to see.  I do love me some lingerie, though, so I was really pleased to grab these at a lower price.
Have you bagged yourself anything in the Topshop sale?  Maybe you're trying your very best to avoid it?  I've actually heard a few people on Twitter say they didn't think it was great, so they didn't get anything.  Well, I'm happy with mine!

Wishful Wednesday

1.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, a checkered shirt is a wardrobe staple.  Do I have one already?  Yes.  Can you have too many?  Hell nawww.
2. An awesome statement piece of jewellery but not too in-your-face.  Love it.
3. I don't own one of these ring chain bracelets, but they're everywhere at the moment so I couldn't help adding this to my wishlist.
4. This is probably a stupidly impractical top.  I mean, you can't wear a bra with it, really, but then you risk flashing some nip-nip... I still sort of, kind of, really like it, though.
5. The perfect addition to a simple tee/dress.
6. After seeing Kim wearing these amazing jeans yesterday I wanted them straight away, a great alternative to your average pair of blue skinnies.
7. How do I not have some creeper-style shoes yet?  They are pretty controversial, but I'm definitely on the 'LOVE 'EM!' side.  My mum has bought some off eBay though, which are currently on their way... Muuuuuuum?  *flutters eyelashes*
8. Perfact jacket for winter.  Yesssss.
