I featured this body chain (which was bought in the sale) in my 'Topshop jewellery haul' this weekend and said it'd be a great way to add edge to any outfit, and here I am!  Ta-daaah.  I decided to wear it with an all-black outfit today, because what better way to dress up a little black dress than with some gold jewellery and red lipstick?  As seen on Chanel S/S '12 runway, I think these are already my favourite piece of jewellery to wear, they make a statement and they're unique, they add a cool factor to any simple outfit.  I only have this one but I just want to buy all the different ones I see.  They're not the easiest thing to put on ('Where on earth does my head go?') but I got there in the end.  I am all for making what-would-have-been-boring pieces a bit more interesting, so these are perfect!  I think this is one the times when 'less is more' doesn't apply, because there's no way this outfit would look equally as good with a thin gold necklace on, am I right, or am I right?  They're becoming more and more popular and you can even buy a chain for your leg.  Or how about a bra?  You're spoilt for choice, really!  What do you think, would you wear one?  I love a statement necklace, but these are a great alternative, I think.
P.S. I heard about the Rihanna and River Island collaboration the other day and I am SO excited for it!  You might have read last week my post on Rihanna being one of my style icons, so I am already saving up for it and planning to buy, er, EVERYthing.  I'm not usually a sucker for collaborations, but I'm already all over this one!

Not to brag or anything but I LOVE this outfit.  When I'm getting dressed I have a tendency to just add things to my outfit, which in this case applies to the tights.  I'm never sure about mixing black tights with a white dress because I suppose it's a much more summer appropriate colour to wear, but because of the stocking style I really love how they look with the dress.  I think all of us has that one (or more) thing which we wear which will undoubtedly make us feel sexy, a slick of red lip lipstick, perhaps?  Well I've decided for me, it's these tights.  The dress is quite feminine and angelic, but the tights immediately make the whole ensemble seem slightly seductive.  I feel like this outfit is very good-girl-gone-bad, and I'm digging it.  The tights definitely get a lot of looks when I wear them, I think people are trying to figure out if they're actual stockings or not, but hey, the more convincing they are, the better.  I'm not sure I'm brave enough to show off some actual stockings, but I'd definitely like to try it some time (think what you will, if I like it, I'm gonna wear it...).  What do you think of stocking tights?  I know they're not for everyone!
I went to see Magic Mike on Friday night, I did enjoy it and it was fun to watch.  Plus, Matthew McConaughey's abs could have a film all on their own.  It wasn't all laughs and stripping but I felt it actually showed a relatively true representation of male strippers (because, you know, I have SO much knowledge on that subject...) so you can't complain I suppose.  The next film I will be seeing is the last Batman which I'm sure will be AMAZING, Christoper Nolan is a bit of a genius isn't he?

OUTFIT POST!  Thank gawddd.  I feel like I've been away for ages, and since I've outfit posted nearly every day since I started this blog in January, I suppose it HAS been ages... I kinda' wish I could blame the bad weather or some minor illness for my absence, but no, it's pretty much all down to my inappropriate obsession with Christian Grey.  You know, that fictional guy who doesn't actually exist?  Yeah, that's the one...  Am not coping very well after finishing all three books, but at least I have the film to look forward to (Ian Somerhalder please stand up).  Speaking of movies I went to watch 'The Five Year Engagment' yesterday, not the usual type of film but it was just a nice and easy film to watch and laugh at, which is always nice from time to time.  I'm also going to see 'Magic Mike' tomorrow night with my mum, it's actually had a lot of good reviews from what I've seen so hopefully that will be fun!  Have you seen it?
On to the outfit, then.  I bought these tights as well as my other stocking ones last week.  Due to the bad weather tights are a necessity, whether it's meant to be summer or not, so because I'm wearing them a lot more than I would like to I thought I'd at least add some variety to my tights collection, rather than wearing the average black pair. All. The. Time.  I tweeted this morning asking if stocking tights are possibly a little too sexy for daytime wear, but since it was only the other day when I was applauding Rihanna for her 'out-there' style, I thought 'Ah what the hell' and just did it anyway (as you can probably see).
As a result I decided to keep the rest of the outfit quite simple with two of the simplest items in my wardrobe.  Oh, and my Chucks, of course.  I wore the shirt quite loose and baggy with the sleeves down to give the look a masculine edge, and against the feminine tights it creates a contrast which I really like.  The skirt it something which I am always arguing with myself about because it just so boring.  Yet here I am, wearing it, because it also goes with things so easily.  What can I say?  Indecisiveness is one of my flaws...
Oh, and won't you check out tonight's pink sky?  Pretty beautiful, right?
