Wishful Wednesday

1. Panther skater dress £28 TOPSHOP | 2. Skull bracelet £8 RIVER ISLAND via ASOS | 3. Secret night trip print sweater £30 ASOS | 4. Zip side leather look shorts £30 TOPSHOP | 5. Denim cut out studded dress £75 RIVER ISLAND | 6. Tiny cross bracelet £6 URBAN OUTFITTERS | 7. Cream faux fur gilet £55 TOPSHOP |

1. I think this dress would look so, so cool with just some messy hair and a pair of Converse.  I think I'll be buying this this weekend...
2. I like this, it's cute.
3. I do really like this sweater but I thought it was a big no no due to the strange gold sleeves.  However, when I thought about it for a few seconds, it started to grow on me.  I can't decide if the sleeves are horrendous or just awesome? Answers on a postcard, please.
4. These are so great and actually a good price for Topshop, too.  The high-waist means they would look great with a cropped band tee.
5. This is way too expensive for me to even consider buying this, but I like the shape and the cut out details all the same.  I can pretend.
6. One cannot own too many pieces of jewellery.
7. I have this in black and feel this colour would just create completely different outfits.  I'd team it with separates in similar tonal shades.  It just makes me feel snug even looking at it.

Slacker style

Denim dress: NEW LOOK | Bunny face sweater & silver dino flatform trainers: ASOS

I would pick a pair of Converse over a pair of heels ANY DAY, and yet 'casual' isn't a word I'd use to describe my style.  I own three pairs of jeans, and none of them are your average blue denim colour.  Fashion is fun and playful and imaginative, so why would I want to express myself with a plain t-shirt and a pair of jeggings? (Note: I am not dissing jeggings (well, maybe a little bit), I do realise fashion isn't the focus of everyone's life, unlike mine...) But sometimes you just feel like throwing a few things on without thinking about it - erm, that's bull, I always think about my bloody outfits, but sometimes I like to make it LOOK like the opposite.  I introduce to you: random jumper/sweater thrown over a dress.  With some cool-ass shoes to make it a bit more exciting.  Easy peasy.  My wardrobe is a mixture of staple pieces (see: denim dress/skirt) with more 'fun' items (see: cute bunny sweater), so my outfits never feel boring to me and there's always that 'edge' in them, which I seem to always be drawn to when choosing what to wear.  So this is one of my effortless, just threw it on, no fuss (as far as everyone else knows) outfits.  Nothing special I suppose, but it's easy on the eye and says 'Yeah, I'm totally laid back.  Man.', and to be honest I do actually have a great relationship with 'I-haven't-tried-too-hard' looks.  Just not to the point where it looks like I don't give a crap about fashion because, you know, I do... What's your take on casual wear?  What do you wear on your more 'relaxing' days?

Why'd you have to go and let it die?

PASTEL BLUE JUMPER: ARK | DENIM DRESS: NEW LOOK | NUDE & PINK BAG: TOPSHOP | SHOES: CONVERSE

The weather is being crazy humid at the moment so what better time to pair a jumper with a dress?  It's not a combination which I get to try often due to the lack of predictable weather, but it is one I really like  I think it looks simple but très chic, also.  I wasn't sure about mixing the two colours together, though, because they are very similar but I actually really like how they look together.  The jumper is nice and light so I consider it more of a summer jumper rather than winter one.  I haven't tried it with black items because I don't think they'll work together, I much prefer it worn in outfits like this one.
I decided to feature my bag in my outfit photos today mainly because it was a nice addition to my relatively simple outfit.  I bought it in London a few months ago, I love the pop of pink on it and it's much bigger than it looks on the outside, which is always a bonus for us ladies!  I'm not much of a bag person, probably because I can't afford to be, so I'll keep this one for the next couple of months and then buy a more winter appropriate one (i.e. a black one) so it suits more of my outfits.  To say I carry this one round with me every day and it still looks as good as new I think it's doing well!  Definitely got my money's worth, and I love love LOVE it when that happens.
I went to see Abraham Lincoln the Vampire Hunter yesterday, have you seen it?  I actually thought it was pretty good, and the 3D effects were the best I've seen yet because I usually can't see much of a difference in other ones!  I'm also trying to finish reading 'The Girl who Kicked the Hornet's Nest' before I get inevitable sucked back into the world of Christian Grey, but I'm getting a little bit impatient with it now because there are SO many characters to remember, plus their names are Swedish which doesn't help.  I did really enjoy the first book/film though so I'll see it through to the end!

Denim & leather

DENIM BOW DRESS: NEW LOOK | LEATHER JACKET & PATENT FLAT SHOES: TOPSHOP

One of my favourite combinations of clothing is denim and leather and yet not one which I wear often.  When I hooked up this soft denim dress with its distressed-denim counterparts and added black accessories, the result was surprisingly awesome.  It's all about contrasting, people!  The shape of the dress is relatively girlie with its fitted-on-top-loose-on-bottom shape, so I loved toughening it up a bit, although some granny shoes had to be inevitably added into the mix as well.  I can't take these off at the moment, and it's usually no easy feat to tear me away from my Converse, but there's something about patent that screams 'chic', non?  Maybe the moustache is actually the principal cause of chicness here, but then again, maybe it isn't.
I had my last exam today HURRAH and all that, so this will be my last mention of them.  I still haven't got it into my head yet and I constantly feel like I should be doing work even though I, well, don't need to be anymore.  I've already had my head in a book to celebrate (seriously, forget going out to DE CLUBS like everyone else my age, oh no, I celebrated my freedom with a BOOK...).  I have no shame.  Hopefully this means blogging before ten in the evening, now.

Denim dress

DENIM BOW DRESS: NEW LOOK | CREAM JUMPER & STUDDED SLIPPERS: TOPSHOP

Ahhh, this New Look dress is an old buy and yet still one of my favourite summer items in my wardrobe.  I bought it a couple of years ago and I've worn it so much that each strap has snapped off and had to be sewn back on.  It is hothothot at the moment (not complaining, am loving it!) and I think this dress is perfect for it!  It's a lovely colour and it is very light fabric so you can do pretty much anything in it (like a bit of tennis, which I tried and failed to play about ten minutes before these pictures were taken).  I took the jumper as it was actually cloudy in the morning, but it still turned out to be the hottest day that we've had so I didn't need it, but the cream colour still looked lovely next to the blue.  It is a bit of a girlie frock, what with the bow and all, so I added a bit of an edge to it with my studded Vectras.  These are the closest thing to ballet pumps which I own and thankfully they go with pretty much everything.  (Some new sexy shoes arrived on my doorstep today, more on them tomorrow! (Yes, shoes can be sexy.))
I'm at college for an hour or so this after noon and then I'll probably be doing some studying in the sunshine (I am not so sure that I'll be attempting tennis again...) and then I think the weather we will be continuing this weekend, so we'll see what happens!  Hope you have a good one!

P.S. If you're interested in seeing some of the clothes which I am selling, you can check out my eBay here.
