With a gun in your hand

Sooo I wasn't too sure about this outfit this morning, but me knowing me I knew I'd learn to love it, and after looking at these pictures I do.  Thanks, past me!  The reason for my doubt was, as I said the last time I wore these pants a few days ago, they look a bit like pyjamas, and the baggy, silk material of the top only adds to that.  The materials work very well together, yes, but so do a pair of matching pyjamas, so... Y'know what I'm saying?

Black leather jacket & studded flatforms: TOPSHOP | Lilac t-shirt: RIVER ISLAND | Stripey pants: ZARA

Saying that, I think they do look bloody good together, as in, for daytime wear.  No bed included.  I think the reason I felt reassured is because of the addition of the leather jacket, and then the studded shoes.  They really helped to toughen the whole look up, y'know?  Lilac can be a hard colour to wear for somone like myself who isn't really into girlie colours, and pastel lilac is definitely one of those.  However, when worn with black and these pants which are actually pretty boyish, lilac is working pretty damn well for me and now I want to wear it more often.  Plus, I got the top for £15 in the sale, sooo I couldn't say no really.
Tonight is being spent watching 'The Voice' followed by 'Britain's Got Talent in my jimjams with an Indian takeaway.  Don't hate me because you ain't me!
Hope you're all have a laaaavely weekend.

Pyjama Trend

Blue coat: RIVER ISLAND | Black top & stripey pants: ZARA | Grey beanie hat: TOPMAN | Black studded flatform trainers & red lipstick: TOPSHOP

Ever wondered how you'd adapt your pyjama pants to daytime wear?  No, me neither.  But now I know.  Not that these are actual pyjamas (well I hope not or else they were very expensive pyjamas), but that trend's been round for a while now.  Y'know, the one where fashionistas wearing clothes which look exactly like pyjamas outside of the house and somehow making it look cool?  Yeah yeah, that one.  It's not showing any sign of going away either seeing as Marc Jacobs took a bow for his latest Louis Vuitton collection in actual jammies.  I mean, if he's doing it, then I'm doing it, buuut maybe not quite so extreme.  Except for the especially lazy days, maybe then I will.

I haven't tried the trend before, and I wasn't intending to when I saw these pants on Saturday, I just liked them, realising they looked like nightwear came afterwards.  I knew as soon as I saw them that they'd look awesome with these new shoes I got (right before buying the pants, yep) and daaaamn was I right.  I didn't want to wear anything but a simple top to keep the look as casual and effortless as possible, so this loose knit one was the perfect choice.  Add the beanie from Topman and some bright red touches and we've got one cool ass look which I am now obsessed with.  This is the start of something new for my style, I can feel it.
What do you think of these pants, would you?  Or will you be sticking to your jeans?  These ones are definitely a lot more comfortable, I can tell you that much.
I'm finally back blonde, yayyy!  You might not know seeing as the last outfit I posted on here was with my orange hair, but yep, I got it out in the end.  Don't get me wrong, being an orange head was awesome and fun, but if the box says it washes out after a while, then I expect it to wash out, kapeesh?
How've you been?  It's been aaaages since I've properly posted, so a catch up is well needed!  I've been good and am still enjoying my tattooing apprenticeship, make sure you keep me in mind if you're planning on getting a tattoo, wink wink.  You'll be waiting a while mind, but it'll be worth it!

Black & white bouquet

Another day, another new dress.  I checked my bank balance yesterday, though, so I think this will be my last new dress ANYTHING for a while.  It's not good man, not good at all.  I can't complain too much though as it as left me with this lovely dress, as well as half of Topshop.  I added it to my 'Wishlist' on Pinterest the other day, and a mere few hours later I was buying it.  What grabbed my attention was the floral details, which look like you've roughly cut them out and just stuck them on, and as a result I think they look really great contrasted against the very straight, even stripes.  It's not one of the most colourful items, and I'm not someone to shy away from wearing colour, but thanks to this I can now wear it when it's colder, like now, but also when it's summer, minus the tights and the woolly hat of course.  Does anyone else do that?  When they see a piece of clothing they like and want to buy it, they have to put some thought into it first to make sure they can wear it all year round and more than once?  You'd think I'd save lots of money by doing this, but I can't see any clear evidence of that.  Ahem.
I added the faux fur gilét mainly because I couldn't leave the house in just a dress, I ain't that crazy.  Also when wearing that plus the cable knit hat I had taken a simple, floral dress and included it into a snug, autumnal outfit.  Simples.  I also thought the hat and the shoes injected just the right amount of colour into this monochromatic look, giving it a slight twist.
How do you wear dresses for the a/w season?  Maybe you just stay well away and stick to jeans?
Hope you all had a nice weekend, anyway.  I had a long one as it's employability week at my university, which meant I had yesterday off (take that, Monday!).  It's actually been a bit boring today and the only good session was when some final year students told us about their placement at Burberry, Adidas and Mexx.  A placement at Burberry would be a dream, apparently they're very corporate with their staff, but hey, it's BURBERRY, what else can you expect?
Hopefully tomorrow is more fun and interesting, which it should be because brands like ASOS and Arcadia are coming in to give us a speech on placements with them for our third year, so fingers crossed!

Monochrome

WHITE PEPLUM TOP: DOROTHY PERKINS | BLACK PLEATHER SHORTS: RIVER ISLAND | SHOES: LEOPARD PRINT CONVERSE

There's something really effective about putting black & white together to make an outfit, isn't there?  I don't usually do it, the old monochrome thing, but I love this combination.  I was going to put a necklace with it but I even decided against that as I thought it looked better simple, as it is now.
