In a burst of light that blinded every angel

Pastel blue jumper: ARK | Jewellery: TOPSHOP | White skater dress & silver dino flatforms: ASOS

It was hardly hot enough to wear this today, but the sun was shining which never bloody happens anymore so I thought I'd take full advantage (well, I've hardly been sunbathing in a bikini, but you know what I mean).  I've been wearing quite a lot of black recently because it is practically winter, but I thought I'd try and squeeze in at least one more summer outfit before the season vanishes completely.  And what says 'summer' more than pastel shades?  You know, apart from the actual sun...
The most popular ways to wear pastels, going off the S/S '12 runway looks, is to mix pastel colours together, but I prefer teaming one pastel colour with white to give it a bit of an edge and avoiding looking too fluffy and girlie.  I think the silver shoes were a perfect touch and mixed with the colours nicely.  The pastel trend is definitely more of a trend for the girlie girls, and although I'm recently discovering I prefer the sexy gothic looks which are all over the winter fashion shows, sometimes it's nice to have a change.  Plus the trainer-style shoes definitely help to even out the girlishness and give the outfit a sporty twist.  I think a jumper in a pastel shade is a key piece to own  because it's easy to just throw over a dress on those not-so-hot days, but nails and accessories also give a nod to the trend if/when you don't feel like being so 'out there'.  Do you dig pastels this season?  Maybe you've already moved on to shopping for winter pieces, like me...?  Hey, sometimes you've just gotta' think one stop ahead.

Muted colours

WHITE SHIRT, SKULL NECKLACE & GREY SHORTS: TOPSHOP | SHOES: CONVERSE
These shorts are another new purchase of mine from Topshop.  I had to push myself to buy these because I realised that the amount of tops I have compared to the amount of bottoms is slightly embarrassing.  I actually like them much more than I thought I would, the colour is lovely and I am all over anything which is high waisted.  It was a lovely change from my usual outfits to wear more softer colours and keep it more minimal.  I suppose muted tones are usually associated with work wear so my Converse were the perfect addition, a great outfit for when you want to look a bit more formal than jeans but a bit less formal than office wear.  Sometimes I think it's nice to step away from dresses and skirts, shorts are a perfect alternative to wear whatever the weather and plus they're a little boyish, which I love.
I hope you've all had a lovely weekend!  I've had my head stuck in 'Fifty Shades of Grey' for the whole time (it's safe to say it has completely taken over my life...) except when I went out for a meal last night for my dad's birthday, which was lovely!  The olympic torch was passing through my town yesterday morning but I'm not really interested in the olympics, never mind a torch, so I stayed in BED.  Bah humbug, etc.

Bleu

PASTEL BLUE JUMPER: ARK CLOTHING | POLKA DOT TROUSERS & SKULL NECKLACE: TOPSHOP | SHOES: CONVERSE

'Oh no, not these trousers AGAIN?' You say?  Ahhhh well.  I think, and after seeing some pictures of other people donning this amazing pair of trews I KNOW, that these would look bang tidy with a pair of heels, but I am so not a heels girl, far from it.  Don't get me wrong, I have sat there many a time, laptop on knees, ooh-ing and ahh-ing over some seriously amazing shoes (I still can't get over how amazingly awesome Prada's S/S 12 flame/rocket shoes are.  WOW.), and I hope one day I can own a pair of Loubous (that man is a GENIUS) but I would do no justice to beautiful pair of five-inchers.  I'm clumsy enough in flat shoes, and I lose my balance at least once every time I take outfit photos, and that's from just STANDING STILL.  It's ridiculous.
I went a bit more matchy-matchy to wear these pants this time, with another blue item but in a different shade, of course.  Perhaps, with the relatively slouchy jumper, it does make the whole outfit look a little too pyjama-ish.  But thankfully, this season is the season when one can get away with such a thing.  Thank you fashion gods.  Perhaps next time I'll just wear my dressing gown and my monster-feet slippers (yes, that's right.  They're even more brilliant than they sound), what do you think?  Hmmm, perhaps not.
I have saved up a bit of money to do a bit of shopping, but you know how it is, you spend all your time lusting after practically everything, and then once you get some you don't know what to pick, or sometimes you just don't want anything at all, but I can't say I know much about the latter.
Today will be spent doing some work and avoiding outside as much as possible, as the rain and cold are BACK *dramatic music, lightning strikes outside, etc*.  The sun was here, for A WEEK, now it's gone.  Summer is over.  That's it.  Fanks England, fanksalot.

While you getting your cry on, I'm getting my fly on

PLAIN WHITE TEE: ZARA | KHAKI GREEN SHORTS: ASOS | SKULL NECKLACE: TOPSHOP |
MIRRORED AVIATOR SUNGLASSES: JACK & JONES |SHOES: CONVERSE

Thankfully I managed to find some shots in which I wasn't being a bit of a buffoon, at the start of the photo editing process I didn't think that was possible.  I was in a bit of a silly mood, which is a shame because this outfit is so meant for someone COOL, what with the aviators and what not.  I got these about a year or so ago before I went on holiday, after really really wanting some.  They do have the power to make someone look like they're a pretty awesome person, well, I hope... They easily added something a little interesting to my simple outfit.  I'm not sure why I all of a sudden decided to wear these shorts after not wearing them for that long that I'd forgotten about them, but they do really go with the red Converse, in a weird clashing sort of way, and I think they make me like the outfit much more than a usual pair of white or black ones would have.  And I think with the colour of the shorts and the sunglasses, the outfit is a bit military-chic.  Not a look I usually go for, but I do likey-like it,
My sunburn is starting to calm down now, I think my chest is finally being past the stage of being that bad that you could have coooked something on it, but it's still a little pink.  The legs are now nice and tanned, however if you look really hard the front of my legs are tanned whereas the back of them are still pale, much to some people's amusement, ahem...  I'm a really rubbish sunbather and if I'm uncomfortable in one position then I won't stay in that position, leaving me with Ross Gellar-esque tan lines ("I'M AN EIGHT!").  But the weather isn't meant to be great for god knows how long now, so I can probably just hide them away for a while.
I saw MIB 3 last night, and as I predicted Will Smith really does brighten up your day (not like there was anything wrong with my day, but just in case).  Because he time travells in the film it did kind of blow my mind a little bit, but fortunately I refrained from doing my usual thing of asking questions throughout the whole movie (yep, I'm one of THEM people...).  Next on the list is Snow White, and the adverts alone are pretty awesome, so that should be a good one!

P.S. If you're interested in seeing some of the clothes which I am selling, you can check out my eBay here.

A walk in the sun

BLACK BLAZER: H&M | PLAIN WHITE TEE: ZARA | BLACK SKATER SKIRT & SKULL NECKLACE: TOPSHOP | SHOES: CONVERSE

It was only a couple of days ago when practically the whole of England was whinging and moaning about the what-should-be-lovely-at-this-time-of-year-but-isn't weather and then BOOM, this week we're having a heat wave.  I'd be surprised, but this is such typical British weather, I'll have my coat and tights on again come Friday! Which is exactly why I am refusing to stay inside doing nothing (probably better for my revision though) when the weather is as beautiful as this, so I decided to grab my camera and go for a walk to find some place where I haven't been before, which is always fun!  I couldn't resist taking some outfit pictures once we got got to the stream, a few minutes before the pictures I had gotten my feet a little wet after discovering that there was no easy way across, but they soon dried off.  It was so nice to have a little break from the usual things which I do and just go and sit in a wide, open space with no noise but the tweeting of birds.  I later realised, though, that I am actually allergic to grass (although it's never been a problem before, I didn't even know you could be allergic to grass until earlier!) after I was itching and and scratching for a few hours once I got home resulting in little bumps all over my legs, AS WELL AS sniffing and sneezing because of my hay fever.  So although I had a lovely time on my little walk, I am just not destined to be outside it seems.  PFFFT.
The outfit is simple and there's not much to it really, mainly to stop me overheating and spontaneously combusting, which is never fun.  The t-shirt and skirt are nice and loose and the blazer was a just-incase item really, but I didn't feel too hot in it.
So that's my day, what do you like to do when the weather's this UH-MAZIN'?  Hopefully there's more of it to come!  Or maybe you just live in a distant country where it's nice all the time, you lucky duck.
