Stars & spikes

STAR & SPIKE NECKLACES, CREAM JUMPER & BLACK SKATER SKIRT: TOPSHOP | BLACK SHIRT: RARE | SHOES: CONVERSE

I've been looking for a black skater-style skirt for ages so when I saw this yesterday I didn't hesitate to buy it.  It's boring and black but I know I'll wear it again and again and again (etc etc) so it's justifiable.  About fifteen quid well spent.  I didn't want to keep it all neutral colours though so I brought out my blue Converse and ended up with an outfit which I likey-like.  The necklaces are actually long but I wrapped each one round twice, which means they've probably knotted themselves together making them impossible to take off so I'll probably have them both on for about a week...
Happy Saturday!

Big shirt, short skirt

SHIRT: RARE | SKIRT (WITH BELT): RIVER ISLAND | SHOES: ASOS

This was the first time I wore this shirt with this skirt, and I really like the outcome, the pink really stands out against the black.  I've worn ths shirt before but without a black vest top under it, I'm not sure which I prefer but the vest was definitely essential for this weather.  It's nice wearing a skirt which isn't bodycon, I've banned myself from buying one of those ever again, unless there's something really exciting about it... as you can see I was having lots of fun in this one twirling around in it.  I remember doing this with a fruit-print dress I had when I was a little girl (that's right, I was wearing that print years before it was even a trend... I obviously started something) so I was pleased to find that this skirt swished too!  Probably not the best for windy days though...

Diamante studded shirt

COAT & SHOES: TOPSHOP | SHIRT: RARE | JEANS: RIVER ISLAND

I thought it would be appropiate to wear my Rare shirt today as I was complaining in my post yesterday that all I wear is River Island, Topshop and ASOS.  I also bought a new jumper from New Look today so am doing incredibly well with my task already!  If you can call shopping a task...
As you can probably guess this shirt is much more impressive in person and the photos don't really do any justice to the little diamante studs, it's a quite a simple item but it catches your eye and the studs really stand out in the sunlight, too.  Since it's a sheer shirt I paired it with jeans to keep it relatively casual and not too over the top.  Also these studded flats are a nice change from my Converse although it's way too cold to really wear them all day which is a shame!  I am ready for summer now, the cold weather and the frost would have been appreciated before Christmas but that's all done with for another year!  Although the sun isn't the easiest thing to take pictures in when it's facing the camera, I need to get myself a tripod...
